The two free practice session in
In the opening session Sten and engineer Stuart King made great progress with set-up to finish the session with a well balanced car tenth fastest in the overall results.
With a strong foundation established, the team experimented with differential settings for the afternoon but the change from the morning set-up produced quite a dramatic change in handling and Sten finished the session nineteenth unhappy with the set-up and performance.
The second free practice finished with a red flag just as Sten was about to try a second new set of tyres to prepare for qualifying, so his position in the session was made with old tyres.
Sten said, “Today we started really well and I learned al lot about how to use new tyres and we made a really good car set. The afternoon session was not so good because I didn’t fell comfortable with the behaviour of the car, but again I learned some things so that was good. It’s necessary to try things otherwise you don’t learn.”
For qualifying the team will revert to the first session set up and rely on Sten to make the most of it!
