The change of season brings special new things to the city.

FESTIVALS

Flowers in bloom June 3  – October 10

Flowers will adorn the city as a garden design festival draws horticulturists from Finland, Sweden, Russia, and Macedonia as well as local designers  to the medieval town walls located on Towers Square (Tornide väljak). Concerts, performances, and playful activities for children complete the package. The festival will culminate with a light festival in Kadriorg Park.

Jazzkaar Autumn Season, August 23 – November 19

Jazzkaar's Autumn Jazz 2009 brings 12 exciting concerts to you. Jazzkaar begins its Autumn Season with a traditional concert at the beautiful Kadriorg Palace Flower Garden. The music of beloved legendary Estonian composer Raimond Valgre is this year's highlight.

International Festival of Sacred Music “Credo”, September 17 – 29

The festival is scheduled around the Orthodox feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God. A unique festival program has witnessed some of the finest examples of Orthodox music, from early Christian liturgical chants to compositions by modern-day composers.

Design Night (Design Festival), September 25 – 27

Design Night (DisainiÖÖ) is a part of cultural festival Arts & Lights in Tallinn. The festival promotes the application of creativity in active, modern lifestyles.

Golden Mask in Estonia 2009, October 6 - 13

“Golden Mask in Estonia” festival, the most important international theatrical event of the year, is celebrating its 5th jubilee. The festival showcase the best Russian performances from last season's including  winners and runners-up in the Russian Festival “Golden Mask” which took place in Moscow last year.

New Music Festival NYYD, October 20 - 25

NYYD Festival is in its 11th season. The festival will concentrate on music, theatre and multimedia projects. This year's featured composers are Heiner Goebbels (Germany) and Georges Aperghis (France).

Black Nights Film Festival, November 12 – December 6

Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival is a prestigious film festival  showcasing feature, animated, student and children/youth films. The festival shows audiences a comprehensive selection of world cinema. This year the emphasis is on new European films, It's a friendly atmosphere and a chance for  audiences to mingle with film-makers both local and international.
