  CHAOTIC FIRST HUNGARORING RACE FOR PENTUS

  Hungaroging World Series race 1 was won today by Moafazfortec Motorsport’s Fairuz Fauzy, who led from his reverse grid pole position through to the finish. For Fauzy’s team-mate Sten Pentus, race 1 was a very hectic affair as he was in the middle of a very aggressive bunch of cars from start to finish, which made for a chaotic but exciting run.

  After a very encouraging first day at the Hungaroring, qualifying was a disappointment for Sten Pentus when his last two laps of qualifying on his second set of tyres were destroyed by another driver who ignored waved blue flags for two consecutive laps at this crucial time.

  Free practice for round four of the World Series by Renault took place at the Hungaroring today. This also marked Sten Pentus’ first experience of the challenging, twisting circuit outside Budapest.

  Pärast esimesel päeval toimunud katkise tiiva tõttu häiritud sõitu, tuli Sten Pentusel alustada 20. stardipositsioonilt, sest 2. sõidu stardikohad määratakse 1. sõidu tulemuste põhjal. Stardipositsioonist hoolimata seadis Sten eesmärgiks 1. sõiduga tekitatud kahju heastada.

  For Sten the weekend ended very positively, “Before the weekend I didn’t know what to expect, because I had heard so much about this track and how challenging it is. The stories are very true but I really loved getting to know it and I had a lot of tough but enjoyable racing. I’m happy with the progress we made this weekend and how much I learned”.

  From his low grid position Sten made a very good start and shadowed team mate Fauzy for the first two laps with both shadowing Greg Mansell before passing Fauzy down the outside into the last chicane and moving straight onto Mansell tail. Unfortunately right at this moment Mansell slowed a little and Sten tapped his front wing on the back of Mansells car, damaging the wing.
